Netflix's "Stranger Things" Season 2 adds "Power Rangers" star Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink as series regulars. The new cast members are set to play step-siblings. Will Sadie Sink's character be the new Eleven?
Sink will portray Max in "Stranger Things" Season 2, a tough and confident girl who behaves like a boy than usual girls of the era. She will have a complicated history and is generally suspicious of those around her.
In "Stranger Things" Season 2, Montgomery plays Max's older step-brother, Billy, who is very confident and edgy. He is known for stealing girlfriends from their boyfriends and drives a black Camaro. But under this personality is a violent and unpredictable nature.
Executive Producer of "Stranger Things" Season 2, Shawn Levy, told The Hollywood Reporter that there will be more interesting new characters this season and the new characters are multigenerational that they are really intriguing. It's not confirmed clearly if Millie Brown's character Eleven will be returning for "Stranger Things" Season 2.
On the other hand, David Harbour -- who plays Chief Hopper -- revealed that the box of Eggo waffles that he left at the end of "Stranger Things" Season 1 are for Eleven. Mirror UK reports that in an interview with Harbour, Hopper may understand that Eleven exists in some form.
However, he did reveal in an interview with Jimmy Fallon that Barb is "fully dead." Does that mean El won't be coming back for "Stranger Things" Season 2? Aside from this burning question, fans are left wondering what's in store for the "Stranger Things" Season 2 plot.
Turns out, "Stranger Things" Season 2 will focus more on what goes on in the Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers have created a 30-page document that answers all the question about the Upside Down world. Ross Duffer said that the plan in the second season is to get into more of those kinds of questions, like why there was only one monster and what is the Upside Down exactly.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 has been picked up for a nine episode order and will possibly be released before July 2017. This season will picked up a year later in the fall of 1984 where the Hawkins residents believe that the horror from last year is over, but they will quickly realize that it's not yet done. Filming for "Stranger Things" Season 2 will start on October in Atlanta, Georgia and producers are viewing it as more of a sequel and not a new story.
