The Dallas Cowboys have been doing great and a large part of that is because of Dak Prescott. Many view the rookie as the new star quarterback for the club though Jerry Jones continues to stubbornly deny it.
The debate has been ongoing on who among Dak Prescott and Tony Romo should be starting. The 36-year-old veteran continues to sit out while the rookie goes to work. The easy answer is that Prescott is a gem of a find and fit to take over from Romo. But as far as Jones is concerned, the Cowboys will stick to their old hand.
Jerry Jones in denial
Jones’ stance of promising Tony Romo his starting job once he is good to go is seen nothing more than a way of honoring the veteran NFL player. But deep inside, many questions if the team owner is serious about his dish.
Dak Prescott has been quarterbacking the Dallas Cowboys impressively and such has befuddled many on why his accomplishments are being overlooked. They are 4-1 with Prescott starting at quarterback and another win against the dangerous Green Bay Packers this Sunday could finally make Jones realize that their fortunes are because of a budding player who has a promising NFL career ahead of him, CBS reported.
Dak Prescott can wait
Being a rookie, Dak Prescott made it clear that he is a team player. That includes saying that the Dallas Cowboys are still Tony Romo’s team, the Washington Post reported. Prescott seems fine with his current role, meaning he can wait.
Well, why wouldn’t he? Prescott has a lot of NFL years ahead of him and he has proven his game. He and Carson Wentz have proven to be valuable assets so far, rookies expected to someday headline their respective teams.
Dallas could try and revert to Tony Romo and live with that decision for the rest of the season. Prescott led the Cowboys this far but the frightening reality is the future ahead of him whether it be in Dallas or somewhere else.
