Justin Theroux told Inverse that he loved his scene with Patti (Ann Dowd) in the well in "The Leftovers" Season 2. "From the moment that Kevin puts it together that Patti's that little girl in the hotel room and he walks to the well and he has to push her into it," he said. The 45-year-old star revealed that he was even shocked to read the script and saw what could possibly happen. Is this kind of intense sequence will happen again in "The Leftovers" Season 3? Most likely!

The series creator Damon Lindelof, on the other hand, even disclosed his plans how to end "The Leftovers" Season 3. "We started with the very end. What do we want the last scene of the series to be, who's in that scene and what's happening in that scene, what do we want that scene to evoke emotionally?" he told Deadline. Storytelling-wise, he revealed that the finality of the show won't be about solving the mysteries and final closings. Does that mean that fans will be left with a major cliffhanger? "The Leftovers" Season 3 is set to return in 2017 on HBO.
