WWE may have a new generation of superstars today, but the legendary status of some may ultimately cement their name in history-especially for their returns. This goes as well for one of the most iconic superstars in the industry of all time, Bill Goldberg.
Starting off as a rumor, the hype around Bill Goldberg's return started when he was first announced as a pre-order bonus for "WWE 2K17." That being said, there was a lot of controversy that surfaced and built up that could have triggered the real-life return of the WCW legend.
Reports of WWE stated that there is still unfinished business between Bill Goldberg and "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar, which transpired over 12 years back. After Goldberg allegedly spoke out his thoughts on returning to the WWE, the advocate of Lesnar, Paul Heyman, issued quite an interesting challenge to the iconic Goldberg.
In a recent promo conducted by Heyman, the advocate said that one of the things keeping him up at night is the fact that Lesnar's career has a mark of defeat from Bill Goldberg during the WWE Wrestlemania 20 event back in 2004. A challenge has been issued care of Lesnar, in which Goldberg responded to via social media.
According to Goldberg, he will then return to Monday Night RAW on Monday, October 17 to answer this challenge. For the time being, nothing is known on what Goldberg might say, although it can debated upon that he will not decline the offer and potentially book the match on a big WWE pay-per-view.
It can be remembered that "WWE 2K17" promised iconic matches with Bill Goldberg in the game as he was a former world champion with a magnificent 178-0 win-loss streak during WCW. Simply put, the reality and dream match with Lesnar that could bring fans back into watching the WWE franchise may already be on its way.
