The war on drugs is not at all over for Colombia in "Narcos" Season 3, but it will take a different route to stir corruption inside the government.
The season finale of "Narcos" Season 2 not only marked the death of the bigtime drug lord, Pablo Escobar, but it was also a head start for the other rivals wanting to take part in the drug trade. For 15 years, Pablo Escobar ruled the drug trade, but with his death, the Cali Cartel takes the stage.
In "Narcos" Season 3, fans will see a totally different story involving the drug trade. The Cali Cartel has seen how Pablo Escobar got destroyed by his own drug dealings. The only way to protect Cali's interest is to penetrate the government, Gamenguide reports.

The four godfathers of the Cali Cartel simply did not agree with Pablo Escobar's practices because Escobar lived as an outlaw. The police was his enemy, and being the enemy of the state means death. In "Narcos" Season 3, the Cali Cartel will be protected by politicians, and drug trade will become available in the government, Inquistr reports.

Fans are now waiting for the Cali Cartel to portray a more political fight, and works to create ties within the system. To stay in the drug trade, the Cali Cartel has to wage their war subtly.
"Narcos" Season 3 will also feature rhe government's initiative to bring down the Cali Cartel. The vigilante group Los Pepes was introduced in Season 2 as an ally of the Cali Cartel to destroy. However, reports said that the Los Pepes will be used by the government to bring down the Cali.
There is no exact air date, but "Narcos" Season 3 will be shown in early 2017.
