Microsoft has sold 76 million Xbox 360 units, Microsoft vice president of interactive entertainment Yusuf Mehdi revealed during the D: Dive into Media conference earlier this week.
Despite low sales in Europe, U.S. and Japan and the presumed launch of next Xbox, codename Durango, later this year, Microsoft has maintained strong sell-through of their six-year old console. Meanwhile, the Kinect has sold over 24 million units since its launching in 2010, close to one third the amount of the Xbox 360.
Microsoft was also quick to note that Xbox Live subscriptions have jumped to about 46 million users, a 15 percent increase in the last year.
"We believe that Xbox is being used by more people in the household, during more hours in the day and for more forms of entertainment. People are using Xbox in the morning to work out with the Kinect Nike+ Fitness program, kids are watching cartoons, families are enjoying movies, and of course people are playing blockbuster games like 'Halo 4'."
