‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Updates: Buggy Game Servers Need Big Improvements Regionally

“Pokemon Go” may have seen a decline in active players back in July but that may not be the only measure to see if the game is actually on the decline. It is a given that some regions saw the game debut on their end and apparently the situation is the same as far as its debut is concerned.

When “Pokemon Go” debuted in two countries (Australia and New Zealand), Niantic and Google knew that they had to be prepared for the big traffic load once gamers download and start playing the game. They wanted to avoid the inconveniences of servers going down though their efforts seem to have gone for naught.

As reported by the Google Cloud Platform Blog, traffic immediately exceeded limits when “Pokemon Go” was made available in Australia and New Zealand. Luke Stone, director for Customer Reliability, was witness to such after traffic spiked to 50 times more, IGN reported.

 How much is enough?

There are still some countries who have yet to experience the magic of “Pokemon Go” but Niantic and Google will have to figure out a way to avoid server downtime. Though people from both companies were quick to their feet, the fact remains that problems could reach a certain level if they are not able to find the right solution.

On another note, the whole traffic issue speaks well about “Pokemon Go”. Active players (for certain regions) may have declined but the fact of the matter is that the game is still something many look forward to.

“Pokemon Go” far from over

That July report on “Pokemon Go” now looms as unreliable though it may not have included countries who rolled out the augmented reality game. The game is still alive and kicking and apparently game servers need to be improved and managed to avoid future game server outages.

One can just imagine the chaos among “Pokemon Go” players should game servers go down. The player base is growing and apparently Niantic and Google still has a lot of work to do.
