Fans have created new theories about "Star Wars Episode 8," particularly focusing on the relationship between Supreme Leader Snoke(Andy Serkis) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher). Snoke will apparently be the next big baddie in "Star Wars Episode 8." There are also talks that Rey's (Daisy Ridley) father may actually be Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor).
Cinema Blend stated that in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Leia told Han Solo (Harrison Ford) that Supreme Leader Snoke seduced their son to the Dark Side. According to one "Star Wars Episode 8" theory, Han Solo only knew about Snoke through Leia. "Star Wars Episode 8" might delve more into Leia and Snoke's past and how the two met. Snoke will not discuss his background in the next movie, so another character, Leia, will build up the villain and reveal his past.
Another "Star Wars Episode 8" theory suggested that Supreme Leader Snoke is actually Leia Organa. The "Star Wars Episode 8" theory cited how Leia compelled Han Solo to get Ben back, while Snoke encouraged Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) to kill Han. Leia might be taking on both roles, similar to Palpatine in the prequel trilogy.
International Business Times wrote that "Star Wars Episode 8" may reveal who Rey's real father is. Another theory hinted that instead of being the daughter of Luke Skywalker or Han Solo, Rey may actually be Obi-Wan Kenobi's. Both Rey and Obi wore the same clothes, used the same mind tricks and had other similar traits. Rey may also be the granddaughter of Obi-Wan. It would explain why Luke's lightsaber would call to her, since Obi-Wan trained Anakin and Luke and actually held the weapon longer than anyone else.
"Star Wars Episode 8" may reveal that Obi-Wan had a child during his exile. The child had Rey, who was also put on exile on Jakku for unknown reasons. These exiles further creates more similarities between the two characters. It could also explain how Rey could rely on mysterious internal strength during times of trouble. "Star Wars Episode 8" is set for release on Dec. 15, 2017. More updates and details are expected soon.
