We've all been there before. You set out to re-live the life of one of your ancestors, only to find yourself in a historically altered version of your past where your ancestor never receives his assassin training, but is still expected to take out a corrupt, and power hungry president. I swear, If I had a nickel for everytime that happened...
Suffice it to say, what's an untrained assassin to do? Ubisoft knows.
The company revealed today new abilities that Assassin's Creed 3 protagonist Ratonhnhaké:ton (he's not Connor in this historical alteration), will learn in the DLC, The Tyranny of King Washington.
While he may not have his assassin training to back him up, Ratonhnhaké:ton is still a threat to be reckoned with. His ability to call on fellow assassins is being replaced by a new ability allowing him to call on the abilities of all the fuzzy forest creatures instead, such as the wolf, eagle, and bear.
Ubisoft released a new video detailing some of Ratonhnhaké:ton's new skill set. Check it out below!
The bear will allow players to increase their strength, the eagle gives fans increased speed, and the wolf will grant them a form of natural invisibility through camouflage. Addtionally, Ratonhnhaké:ton will be able to don warpaint which grants a dramatic increase all of his abilities. And instead of just gaining some animalistic powers, he'll also be able to sic his fluffy buddies on unsuspecting enemies.
"What if the story of America was not the one you knew? Revealing a nation born not of courage and brotherhood, but of greed and desire for absolute power." The Tyranny of King Washington aims to answer that question. The DLC is an alternate take on Assassin's Creed 3's story, in which, while Washington and the rest of the Colonial troops still managed to defeat the British, Washington took the victory as an opportunity to crown himself as the new King of the United States, and it looks like he managed to get himself a Piece of Eden in the process, likely the root of his corruption.
In this version's history, Connor never took the name Connor, and never became an assassin. As such, "he must endure new trials, acquiring the skills he'll need to take down a possessed Washington and win freedom for his land once and for all," according to Ubisoft's official synopsis.
All three episodes of the DLC will be available through the Assassin's Creed 3 Season Pass, or gamers can grab each episode individually as they arrive. Each episode will run for 800 MS points on Xbox 360, or $9.99 each for PS3 and PC gamers.
The DLC arrives on Xbox 360 and PC on Feb. 19, and PlayStation 3 the following day, Feb. 20.
