The iPad Air 3, which is the upcoming mid-range tablet of Apple was surprisingly not announced during the recent event of the giant tech company. The iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch 2, on the other hand were the ones highlighted and took the spotlight. Was it because Apple is concentrating more on the Pro line or was it due to some hardware changes?
The Reporter Times reported before about the possible release of the iPad Air 3 in the first quarter of 2017. But there are also rumors and speculations about the iPad Air 3 being totally scrapped by the company.
A reputable note from Mich Chi-Kuo shows that Apple may focus on overall improvement and development of the iPad Pro line. The note, however, did not point out a specific iPad model, but it may be not probable that the iPad being talked about is the Air 3. The chances decrease even more because of the specs of the previous iPad Pro that matches with the one from the research notes.
Fans of the iPad Air line should still get their hopes up in getting their hands on the iPad Air 3 because even the MacBook Pro would still have a number of newer models coming as reassured by Tim Cook based on MacRumors report. In the same report, there was a direct email exchange from Tim Cook explaining and proving that Apple will definitely not disregard and discontinue the Mac line just yet even though there are no updates available for quite a while now.
The same may be expected with the iPad Air 3. However, if the device will still not appear either in the first or second quarter of 2017, then qualms of it being scrapped for real in favor of the Pro line might be possible.
