The secrecy surrounding the Nintendo NX console is intentional, tactical and well thought out. Ever since the console was announced, it became the talking point for gamers. But many have been thoroughly disappointed and frustrated for Nintendo's claustrophobic silence on its highly-anticipated console.
The Nintendo NX has been one of the company's most recent well-kept secrets despite the hype and hoopla surrounding the device. A recent interview with communications manager for Nintendo Canada, Andrew Collins, revealed that the company does not even want a mention of the console, writes International Business Times. Before the very start of the interview with Game Skinny, Collins made it amply clear that questions on Nintendo NX would result in a shorter conversation.
It seems the Nintendo NX secret has become so huge that the bosses feel even a mention of it may ruin the surprise. The only thing that Collins touched upon was how the company uses Nintendo Direct and how the "Directs are actually presented to the communications teams much closer to their release." He also revealed that a Nintendo Direct will happen soon that will talk about "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," reports iTech Post.
What is interesting about the interview is that it was thoroughly edited after its initial publishing. So, there is a possibility that Nintendo NX was in fact discussed no matter how trifle the information was.
Collins apparently said that Nintendo will not discuss Nintendo NX though the company will most-likely hold a Nintendo Direct in future for the console just before launch. The comment was removed soon after suggesting that the company's stringent practices do not allow any info on the console.
Thus, all fans know currently is that the Nintendo NX will be revealed via Nintendo Direct. Recently a release date and price leak suggested that the device would be available from Dec. 31 and will carry a price tag of £349.99 (US$455 approx).
