While "Dance Moms" has been on air since 2011, Kalani Hilliker only became a part of the hit Lifetime show in 2014 or season four. Maddi Ziegler, on the other hand, was an original member of "Dance Moms" and the Abby Lee Miller's Junior Elite Competition team. But even though they didn't start their careers together, Maddie Ziegler and Kalani Hilliker were already friends even before the latter joined "Dance Moms." Now that Maddie Ziegler has left the show, are they still friends and as close as before?
Maddie Ziegler's Instagram post has proven that she and Kalani Hilliker are still very much close. Although they don't see each other that much anymore, Maddie Ziegler and Kalani Hilliker has maintained a really good friendship. During Kalani Hilliker's birthday, Maddie Ziegler posted a sweet photo of her and her 16-year-old BFF. She described Kalani Hilliker as "beautiful, selfless, trusting, and all around the best friend/sister to spend time with" in her caption. Maddie Ziegler also expressed how much she loves Kalani Hilliker and she also noted that she left her a special text message.
As if the sweet photo and birthday message wasn't enough, Maddie Ziegler came all the way to Arizona to spend time with Kalani Hilliker. A short yet sweet clip shows the arrival of Maddie Ziegler to Kalani Hilliker's hometown. The two girls ran into each other's arms and gave each other a really tight hug.
Maddie Ziegler then posted another photo of her and Kalani Hilliker, but this time she gave and update saying that they will be celebrating their birthdays together. Kalani Hilliker's birthday was on September 23, and Maddie Ziegler will turn 14 in September 30.

When Kalani Hilliker finally landed a part in "Dance Moms," her talent and personality definitely fit right in. Not only that, Kalani Hilliker became really close with the "Dance Moms" girls right away and her friendship with Maddie Ziegler became even stronger. So when Maddie Ziegler and her younger sister Mackenzie Ziegler left "Dance Moms" Season 6, it was extremely hard for the girls. Being Maddie Ziegler's BFF on and off the camera, Kalani Hilliker took the news hard but both promises to maintain their friendship. And by the looks of it, Maddie Ziegler and Kalani Hilliker has kept that promise.
