"Civilization VI" is set to launch in October 2016 and fans are already wondering if their PC is powerful enough to run the strategy game efficiently. 2K Games provided the system requirements, which will most likely allow several previous gamers to continue enjoying the title.
2K wrote on Steam that the minimum "Civilization VI" requirements on PC include a Windows 7 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit or Windows 10 64bit OS. It also needs an Intel Core i3 2.5 Ghz or AMD Phenom II 2.6 Ghz or greater processor, 4GB of RAM, 12GB or more of hard drive space. Other needs are DVD-Rom for disc-based installation and a 1GB Direct X 11, Nvidia 450 or AMD 5570 video card. To run "Civilization VI" at optimum settings, however, 2K Games recommended that players have a Windows 7 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit or Windows 10 64bit OS.
Also needed is a fourth generation Intel Core i5 2.5 Ghz or AMD FX8350 4.0 Ghz or greater processor, 8GB of RAM, and 12GB or more of hard drive. A DVD-Rom for disc-based installation and a 2GB DirectX 11, AMD 7970 or Nvidia 770 or greater video card is also necessary. Other "Civilization VI" initial installation requirements include a one-time internet connection for authentication on Steam. The software installations required are Microsoft Visual C++2012, Steam Client, Microsoft DirectX and 2015 Runtime Libraries.
2K stated on Steam that they tested several systems to guarantee that "Civilization VI" will be as optimized as possible. "Civilization VI" introduced a big change in unstacking its cities. Players no longer have to build almost everything on just one tile. "Civilization VI" will launch on Oct. 21, 2016. More updates and details on the gameplay are expected soon.
GameSpot reported that 2K also announced that a "Civilization VI" 25th Anniversary Edition is also coming, but only 20,000 copies will be released. The special version will retail at $90, and includes the main game, digital deluxe edition content and Aztec civilization preorder bonus. The "Civilization VI" 25th Anniversary Edition also features a coin set, display case, and a 100-page hardcover art book titled "Civilization Through the Years." The special "Civilization VI" version will be housed within a special packaging themed after the anniversary celebration.
