"Mafia 3" is set to release on October 2016, but the game director already shared details about the upcoming DLC. Some of the upcoming content and items were based on previous requests by "Mafia 3" fans. There will be new character outfits, weapons, vehicles, free races and various customization options.
Haden Blackman, lead and creative director of Hangar 13 Studio shared that the "Mafia 3" development team will focus on free content that gamers will receive after the main title launches. There will be both free and paid expansions after the big launch. According to Blackman, there will be free races in the "Mafia 3" DLC. Players can join a series of races and go around the city. They can also earn money and new customizations for their vehicles by joining contests.
PlayStation Lifestyle reported that the "Mafia 3" DLC will feature new free weapons. There is a golden weapon pack featuring the Judge, Jury and Executioner, which will become available in November. New character outfits and vehicle customizations will arrive, as requested by gamers and players can even particularly adjust Lincoln's outfit. With regard to vehicle customization, "Mafia 3" players can pimp their ride with new wheels, paint and license plates. The performance of vehicles can also be upgraded.
TheGamersDrop stated that according to Hangar 13 Studio, "Mafia 3" free content will be released in the coming months after the game officially launches. There will be three story expansions, which will be wholly separate experiences that will add more insight into Lincoln's time in New Bordeaux. The "Mafia 3" main protagonist will be facing more enemies, aside from the Italian mafia. The three expansions in "Mafia 3" are "Faster, Baby!," "Sign of the Times," and "Stones Unturned." The first story showcases fast cars, vehicular stunts and exciting chases.
Lincoln will team up with his former lover Roxy Laveau to go against a corrupt sheriff who terrorizes Civil Rights activists in the outskirts of town. In the second story, Lincoln will agree to hunt down the cult behind a series of ritualistic killings. In the third expansion, Lincoln teams up with CIA agent John Donovan to deal with a blood feud that started in the Vietnamese jungles. "Mafia 3" will release on Oct. 7, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and Mac.
