Fans continue to wait for an update regarding the sequel to the 2013 hit Disney animated film, "Frozen." It's a relief that a sequel is happening but not much is known about the upcoming movie. There are several theories, though, on how the sequel will play out. Some of them suggest that "Frozen 2" will feature a crossover with Tarzan while others insist that Elsa will come to realize about her sexual orientation and become the first gay Disney princess.
The LGBT community has even launched the hashtag campaign #GiveElsaaGirlfriend, pressuring Disney to make Elsa a gay Disney character in "Frozen 2." When actress Idina Menzel, who voiced the ice queen, was asked about her opinion on the matter, she revealed to PrideSource that she was "excited" that her character sparked this kind of conversation. "Maybe at first I was a little surprised because it's Disney, but I can say that I'm excited that the conversation is happening," Menzel told the publication.
Whether or not Disney will indeed push through with the gay character movement remains to be seen. Menzel also doesn't know if the company will use the idea for "Frozen 2." She said that she can't promise that the sequel will have a gay Elsa, but she's happy that people are talking about the movement.
Meanwhile, Kristen Bell, who voiced the character Anna, revealed to IGN that work on "Frozen 2" hasn't started. The actress explained that Disney doesn't have to rush the movie because the company is making sure that everything is perfect, regardless if it takes five years to complete.
When asked what will happen to the Anna/Elsa sibling relationship in the sequel, Bell said that the sisters will most probably face a new challenge. "They will have to have an even bigger event to prove why kindness and familial love is paramount,' the actress shared. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Frozen 2" news and updates!
