Fans of Lady Gaga are excited about the release of the singer's fifth album, the date of which has finally been revealed. After a long wait, fans will finally get a copy of Gaga's upcoming album next month.
Titled "Joanne," Lady Gaga's new album has been confirmed to release on Oct. 21. The "Born This Way" hitmaker made the announcement while doing an interview on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe. The album is titled "Joanne," which happens to be the name of Lady Gaga's late aunt who died at 19 from lupus. Her death devastated Gaga's father's family.
Joanne has so much significance in Lady Gaga's life. Although Joanne died way before Gaga was born, her influence on her niece is so strong. "I never met her, but she's been one of the most important figures in my life," Lady Gaga said. Not only is Joanne her aunt, but it's also Lady Gaga's middle name (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta). It is also the name of the New York restaurant that the artist's father owns. In addition, the "Poker Face" singer also had the date of her aunt's death tattooed on her body.
Apart from the information on the release date of Lady Gaga's new album, there were also details on some of the tracks and the artists that she worked with. It was revealed that one of the songs in the new album is titled "John Wayne," with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age on guitar. Another track on "Joanne" is titled "Sinner's Prayer" featuring Father John Misty.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga's first single from her upcoming album, titled "Perfect Illusion," has been released. Fans will finally get to see Gaga in the latest music video, which will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 9 p.m. ET, during the premiere of "Scream Queens" season 2 on Fox.
