In a rare move, Netflix recently announced their renewal order for "Narcos" season 3 and 4 after season 2 wrapped up on Friday. With the death of the Medellin Cartel leader in last season, many fans are wondering who will be the next drug lord in season 3.
The Death Of Pablo Escobar
It appears that Netflix isn't finished yet with "Narcos" as it announced the renewal for two more seasons, per E! News. While fans saw the fall of Pablo Escobar in the finale episode last season, the show will continue even after the death of the famous drug lord. To recall, Escobar was attacked by the Colombian Special Forces at the end of Season, bringing death to the Medellin Cartel. However, the cocaine business will continue to thrive. Fans will see three drug lords in "Narcos" season 3 and The Wrap may just have an idea who they are.
Fans will see "Narcos" season 3 without the brilliant performance of Wagner Moura as the leader of the Medellin Cartel. His death brought the rise of the Cali Cartel, which is also responsible for the Mexican Cartels. Although the cartels existed almost along the same timeline, the Cali Cartel was most responsible for the cocaine boom in Mexico, proving that it's more lucrative than heroine. It's been suggested that the Cali Cartel will bring in another powerful drug lords in the names of Helmer "Pacho" Herrera and Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela.

The Rise Of Cali Cartel
The Cali Cartel aided in killing Pablo Escobar as last seen in "Narcos" season 2. Herrera and Orejuela, together with one more character, who is suggested to be "Chepe," will blend with the system and bring cocaine in Mexico. Ultimately, the Cali Cartel becomes the most powerful drug ring in the entire world. Aside from Chepe, there will be several new characters in "Narcos" season 3.
According to reports, the Cali Cartel is responsible for 90 percent of the world's cocaine sales. While the Medellin Cartel mostly revolved around the Escobars, the Cali's used a powerful system and political organizations to bring in cocaine. The Cali's were able to earn over $7 billion each year at the peak of their business. While "Narcos" season 3 may not match the violence of Pablo Escobar, next season will see his plans unfolding. "Narcos" season 3 is expected to air in mid-2017.
