With Marvel's "Civil War" garnering almost all excellent reviews, it is quite clear that it has won 2016 as against its rival DC. Now, the question is, with its planned array of more superhero films, will it maintain its lead or falter somewhere along the way? While their future projects cannot be reviewed in advance, their successive film releases show that they have no plans of slowing down.
Collider looked into the upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie, which features a surgeon who suddenly wields superpowers following a car accident and a short trip to Nepal. The latest featurette for this coming film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, will take viewers into the origins of Doctor Strange and the challenges that he faces. While most of what is revealed through this featurette is already known to those who have been following the film, the inception like imagery still continues to be amazing.
Hollywood Reporter says this new featurette makes "Doctor Strange" special as it gives the basic plot of the movie, and points out that the hero is both arrogant and compassionate. For Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, however, another exciting element to the film besides the leading man is the villains. He describes them as "these are people who have become seduced by what they find on the other side... They're interested in destroying the barriers between dimensions which would annihilate our universe."
Benedict Cumberbatch says his role in "Doctor Strange" is brilliant, arrogant, extraordinary, and his need to control his own fate brought him to the height of his profession. When a tragic accident robs him of his ability to operate, he seeks other ways to go back to the life he always had, only to leave it forever.
The movie also has other big stars including Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton, and Chiwetel Ejiofor who will be seen with Cumberbatch in the film. On describing his upcoming role of Mordo in the film, Chiwetel Ejiofor says that his character introduces Doctor Strange into a different and mystical world. Cumberbatch adds that "it brings out this spiritual dimension that he never knew was possible" and that he will realize the potential for him to help on a larger scale. Marvel's next biggest movie project "Doctor Strange" which features the neurosurgeon turned sorcerer will be out in theatres worldwide this coming November 4.
