The classic TV series "MacGyver" is set to return to CBS headed by the "X-Men: Apocalypse" star, Lucas Till as Angus MacGyver. However, unlike the original TV series, the role of the 26-year-old star will never work alone as he has his companion Jack Alton (George Eads) and more.
A New Hero Viewers Need To See
Angus MacGyver would also be joined by his boss Patricia Thornton (Sandrine Holt), his roommate Wilt Bozer (Justin Hires) and the blackhat hacker Riley Davis (Tristin Mays). As there are a lot of TV series emerging today, executive producer James Wan said that viewers need to see the hero in "MacGyver." Angus MacGyver uses more of his brain to solve things more than his strength and muscles compared to other TV shows.
According to Digital Trends, without the knowledge of the Department of External Services, Angus MacGyver manages to save the world every week. With the help of his own creativity and his trademark bubblegum and a paper clip, he can easily take on the challenge. In fact, one of his most remarkable stints is the time he has to cheat a hand-scanner to open a vault in "MacGyver."
George Eads Compares 'MacGyver' To 'CSI'
Meanwhile, 13wmaz reported that Lucas Till prepared hardly for his role in "MacGayver" to look a mister-know-it-all kind of guy. "In this episode he's [MacGyver] made a torch, disarmed bombs and making paperclip art. You can't forget paperclip art," the show's head of props Kate Guanci described. The actor even agreed to what she said by revealing he had done a lot of things to be a do-it-yourself geek.
"I have three cell phones ... and a point-and-shoot digital camera completely disassembled. ... a couple of schematics on my laptop, a couple of YouTube videos," Lucas Till teased. George Eads even differs "MacGyver" from "CSI," saying that the show features more action, stunts and fights. "MacGyver" will be seen on Sept. 23 on CBS.
