It has been recently announced that all of the expansions of "Battlefield 4" on Xbox One, PS4 and PC are free. This is quite a big deal, considering that game expansions always come with a price or with a catch if such will be offered for free.
Shack News reports that Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb recently announced that all expansion packs for Battlefield 4 are going to be free for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Sony has also revealed that the expansions for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 are going to be free as well. Developer EA had been gratuitously giving away expansions of "Battlefield 4" as part of its campaign titled "Road to Battlefield 1." Through this campaign, players of the game were treated to one free expansion pack every month in which it was operating
GameSpot confirms this report about the free expansion packs and while there had been no mention of it on PC, it has been announced that PC players will get it for free as well. These free expansions were originally offered through the campaign for free for only a week and just one expansion but with this launch, they are free again once more.
These "Battlefield 4" expansions would include China Rising, Naval Strike, Second Assault, Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand which come for no cost at all. These come with no catch as once a player has downloaded all of the expansions, they can already be kept for good. There is also no need to have an Xbox Live Gold membership to be able to avail of the deal, but a subscription is necessary to play the game online.
The "Battlefield 4" free expansion can be downloaded on a player's console right now or by queuing a download from Xbox.com. This is one of the very few times wherein these expansions are available for free since they normally sell for about $15 dollars each. Another game in the franchise "Battlefield 1" will be out on October 21 and will be playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
