iOS 10 is expected to formally roll out soon, with Pangu expected to come out with its last card in the form of an iOS 10 jailbreak. Recall that Pangu showed this off at MOSEC 2016 back in July, something that appeared alongside the iOS 9.3.2 and iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak, Forbes reported. Apple has repeatedly thwarted those hacks with timely iOS updates and iOS 10 is likely to get one as soon as (and if) Pangu unveils its last card.
The thing to consider here is that Pangu worked on an earlier version of the iOS 10 beta, meaning a lot of improvements have been made since then. Seeing that they were able to crack the meat of iOS 10, tweaking thing a bit should not take much of their time.
It’s iOS 10.0.1, not just iOS 10
Unfortunately, a new complication may be ahead with word that the set iOS 10 release will be technically iOS 10.0.1. This was revealed at the iPhone 7 unveiling event dubbed as iOS 10.0.1 Golden Master edition, hinting that Apple may have just pulled a fast one on Pangu.
The consolation is that iOS 10.0.1 beta was released to testers with Pangu likely getting hold of one. The question now is how deep did Apple modify the operating system go and how glaring are the changes with the said version?
Back to square one?
With that said, Apple may have just dodged another jailbreak dish from Pangu meaning they need to come up with a jailbreak for iOS 10.0.1 and not plain iOS 10. This is something unexpected for Pangu though they did manage to come out with a surprise jailbreak for iOS 9.3.4.
The hacking group is expected to come out with an iOS jailbreak this October though its use will depend on which operating system it was made for. If it was for iOS 10, it may technically be useless, meaning an iOS 10.0.1 jailbreak may face another delay.
