Mercy is one of the most eligible characters in "Overwatch." However, Blizzard revealed to the dismay of many, that Mercy is already taken.
Blizzard's support team recently tweeted that they are sorry to say that Mercy in "Overwatch" is no longer available, so she cannot be your BAE (before anyone else). The support representative continued to explain that unfortunately, it is Mercy's decision and she has already offered her digital heart to another "Overwatch" character, Roadhog. The rep described Roadhog as the most handsome, intelligent, fit and morally upright character in the game.
GameSpot reported that it is not surprising for many "Overwatch" gamers to be attracted to Mercy. She is a beautiful guardian angel that is a potent healer and can also be deadly when necessary. The Blizzard rep stated that "Overwatch" players should understand that several other characters are also attracted to Mercy, since she is so effective at healing. However, Roadhog literally ate them all and players cannot expect to compete with him. The rep ended by hoping that he has not broken the hearts of several gamers too much.
In the meantime, Blizzard recently featured an update for the PC version of "Overwatch." The high bandwidth patch generally boosts the netcode of the game, which improves the response times of characters in-game and how their actions will be visible on other players' screens. As a result, gameplay will have added accuracy and expected to run smoother. Lead engineer Tim Ford and senior engineer Philip Orwig added that those with weaker internet connections will automatically be downgraded to the right "Overwatch" category, without compromising gameplay.
In a Battlenet forum post, "Overwatch" game director Jeff Kaplan featured stats to show the most frequently played characters. In "Overwatch" Quick Play, Bastion, Genji and Torbjorn were the favorites. In "Overwatch" patch 1.3 Competitive Play, Mercy, McCree and Reaper were the most frequently played fighters. Kaplan added that Mercy is the only abnormality in the list, in terms of getting a lot of Play of the Game (POTG). They plan to look more into the character, but consider the others normal relative to each other.
