"Pokemon Go" players know all too well how Niantic does not tolerate cheaters. The makers of "Pokemon Go" has once again made a step forward in purging all the cheaters in "Pokemon Go." They are now banning all rooted and jailbroken devices, which is highly prone to tricky apps and cheats.
Ever since it was released in July, a lot of cheats and tricks for "Pokemon Go" has been circling the internet. What's worse about these cheats (in the perspective of Niantic) is that almost everything is available for free. Although the free and easy to apply "Pokemon Go" cheats is a "Pokemon Go" -- players's dream come true, it is Niantic's worst nightmare. This is why Niantic is continually finding ways to lessen the cheaters by banning them from the game.
According to Forbes, Niantic is on the process of killing all support and access of "Pokemon Go" from jailbroken or rooted gadgets. This means that iOs phones and rooted Android devices will no longer be equipped to play "Pokemon Go."
The banning of rooted or jailbroken devices will be one big leap for Niantic. They have already pointed out that most "Pokemon Go" cheaters own rooted or jailbroken devices which makes it easier to purge cheaters. It has been noted that spoofing the GPS of a gadget is much easier when the device is rooted or has undergone jailbreak.
Aside from GPS spoofing, rooted or jailbroken devices can also facilitate faster increase in level of a player as well as planting a player in a specified gym with no effort. This certain "Pokemon Go" purge may also have something to do with the efforts of Niantic to curb cheaters when "Pokemon Go Plus" is released next week.
The players of "Pokemon Go," who own rooted or jailbroken devices, are raising their eyebrows since they are saying that not all of them are cheaters. They are afraid that the honest players of "Pokemon Go" who own rooted devices might be unfairly affected. Niantic is yet to comment on that matter.
