'Supergirl' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, Latest News & Update: Lynda Carter's POTUS to Discuss Immigration, Musical Episode to Feature Original Track

"Supergirl" season 2 is making its way to The CW this October and with that, several new characters are also being introduced to the show. There's Tyler Hoechlin, who will play Kara's (Melissa Benoist) cousin, Superman, Ian Gomez as Calista Flockhart's replacement, Snapper Carr, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, and the OG Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter as the POTUS, Olivia Marsdin.

Speaking of the original Wonder Woman, Entertainment Weekly reports that Carter's POTUS is set to discuss immigration issues in the upcoming "Supergirl" season 2 through the Alien Amnesty Act. According to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, Carter's POTUS is a champion for immigration, which is why she is the target of some groups. Of course, being the President of the United States will require some extra protection, courtesy of Supergirl herself.

In other "Supergirl" season 2 news, there's also the musical crossover episode that the show will be doing with their pals over at "The Flash." It's a nice welcome to the network party, and fans are excited to see how the stars of both shows are going to show off their singing skills. FYI, Benoist and "The Flash" star Grant Gustin were both alums of "Glee," so we're pretty sure they have some awesome singing chops.

Speaking of music, it seems that the crossover episode between "The Flash" and "Supergirl" season 2 will feature an original track. Executive producer Greg Berlanti told Indiewire that they are done writing the crossover episodes and are now in the middle of producing them. They're also on the brink of obtaining permission to record covers of songs that they'll use for the highly anticipated musical crossover episode.

"I do want to try and get an original piece of music written," Berlanti admitted. "As we make a deal on that we’ll probably make some announcements on the original songs."

What songs do you want Supergirl and Flash sing in the musical crossover episode? Are you excited for their original tracks? "Supergirl" season 2 makes its debut on The CW on October 10.
