Bethesda is keeping busy. They're gearing up for the release of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition this October 28, and the highly anticipated "Fallout 4" on November 10. With two of the studio's titles hitting stores very soon, what's next for the company? Are they finally kickstarting development on "The Elder Scrolls 6?"
According to Express, Bethesda's Pete Hines told fans during Gamescom that they are working on two big projects, but it looks like "The Elder Scrolls 6" isn't one of them just yet. Of course, fans took to Twitter to ask him questions on those two projects. He announced via the social media platform, "The studio is working on what they want to work on. They have other plans before they get to TES6."
Meanwhile, VG24/7 reports that Bethesda is currently working on "The Elder Scrolls: Online," which will be one of the very first games to hit PlayStation 4 Pro. The studio promises "increased graphical fidelity" on the PS4 Pro, given that the console has a 4K display. Check out the announcement below.
Now that Bethesda is working on not one but two large projects, it's easy to speculate that they're developing either "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" spin-off or a huge "Fallout 4" DLC. Of course, fans are still hoping that they're working on or at least have decided to create "The Elder Scrolls 6."
"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" occurs 200 years followig the events of "Oblivion," so there's definitely room to create a spin-off series or even "The Elder Scrolls 6." Possibly storylines to follow may be the origins of Alduin and the dragons that attacked Skyrim, and why he is prophecied to destroy the races of Men and Mer.
"The Elder Scrolls 6" may also tackle the backstory of the relationships between the Dragonborn and the Blades. There's basicall infinite possibilities with just the mythology of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."
Meanwhile, we just reported that Sony has prohibited mod support for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and "Fallout 4" on PlayStation 4, causing Bethesda to share their thoughts on the decision. For now, those who want to fully experience mod on those games must play on Xbox One instead. "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" arrives on October 10.
