Recent reports surfaced that "Titanfall 2" will not be part of EA/Origin Access. The absence of "Titanfall 2" means that subscribers cannot enjoy the game early or get special discounts.
"Titanfall 2" by Respawn was excluded from the benefits of EA/Origin Access. EA/Origin Access members, in turn, will not get to play the game earlier than the official launch date. Ordinarily, members of the subscription service could enjoy new titles five days earlier than the main release. Members also get 10 percent off on all digital content by EA. However, these advantages are apparently unavailable for "Titanfall 2."
GameSpot revealed that EA/Origin Access subscribers can also start a constantly growing library of free games. The latest game added was "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2." The cost of subscription is $5 per month or $30 per year on Xbox One and $5 per month on PC, without any annual offerings. There is no EA Access for PlayStation 4.
GameReactor noted Respawn in stating that "Titanfall 2" may be part of EA/Origin Access in the future, although not at launch. The game developer did not explain why the title was taken out of the program. Some "Titanfall 2" fans speculate that Respawn wants to capitalize on the game's popularity by skipping the 10 percent discount advantage. The specifics may be revealed in the coming weeks.
According to Respawn and EA, "Titanfall 2" will feature several elements that made the first game a hit among players. They will also introduce improvements to the game, specifically the pilot and titan mobility and passive timer to acquire titans. The changes were made in "Titanfall 2" after the beta tests conducted in August 2016. Beta testers previously complained that they had issues with movement speed, recharge times and getting into titans.
The original "Titanfall" launched in 2014 for PC and Xbox. The official game will release on Oct. 28, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. "Titanfall 2" is currently available on pre-order in two versions - Standard and Deluxe. The Standard edition costs $69.99, while the Deluxe edition is priced at $89.99.
