"Injustice 2" is currently in the works but fans are already speculating about the new features that will arrive. There will reportedly be new reactive environments, multi-level arenas, more characters and loot drops, among others. Here are five new features set to appear in "Injustice 2."
Response environments
The Sixth Axis reported that "Injustice 2" will allegedly have more dynamic environments that react to ensuing battles. This means that points of impact in the surroundings can be damaged or destroyed, depending on how and where characters engage these. "Injustice 2" players will appreciate the realism, compared to most fighting titles that showcase flat backgrounds. "Injustice 2" is also said to feature multi-stage arenas, where the fight can transition from one place to another.
A wide array of characters
International Business Times revealed that "Injustice 2" will have an expanded playable roster. Some of the confirmed characters to appear include Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Atrocitus, Blue Beetle and Gorilla Grood. Harley Quinn and Deadshot were the two newest characters confirmed to join the list.
Character progression
"Injustice 2" will reportedly let two fighters gain experience simultaneously. The approach will allow both the character being played and the opponent to level up faster. Director Ed Boon also asked fans whether they prefer having Jason Todd or the Joker in the lineup. Todd garner 80 percent of the votes.
New loot drops
The new feature in "Injustice 2" allows specific characters to grow more powerful over time, depending on how frequent they are used. More items will become available, which will ultimately turn the characters into enhanced versions. Both their appearance and abilities will be improved by the loot drops. The drawback include imbalances where a few or one character becomes extremely powerful, while the rest of the roster remains weak.
Improved game mechanics
"Injustice 2" is the sequel to "Injustice: Gods Among Us," which launched in 2013. It is very likely that the upcoming game will feature most of the game mechanics that made the original version famous. However, there will expectedly be some adjustments in "Injustice 2" while maintaining its essence. The next installment is set to launch sometime in 2017.
