'Pokemon Go' Cheat, Tips & Tricks: How the Buddy System Works In The New Update

With the newly released update, players of "Pokemon Go" can now experience walking with a pokemon  beside the trainer in the game. The Buddy feature allows pokemons to walk with the trainer to gain candies, specifically to what pokemon the player assigns in the new Buddy feature.

The new Buddy feature in "Pokemon Go" will allow one pokemon to walk with the trainer and it cannot do other task or players of the game cannot command the pokemon if it is assigned as a buddy. The pokemon cannot also be traded when it's in buddy mode, unless it is removed as a buddy. And lastly, the pokemon cannot engage in gym battles as long as it is in the buddy mode.

Long story short, the pokemon will only accompany the trainer in "Pokemon Go" and try to gain some candies when the player is walking in their respective city. The new Buddy feature has a categorizations when players of "Pokemon Go" assign a certain pokemon as a buddy. These categories are Medium, Shoulder, Big, and Flying. It all makes sense because it is impossible for Snorlax to be in the shoulders of the trainer in "Pokemon Go" while the player is walking.

According to Game Rant, there are advantages when players of "Pokemon Go" place a pokemon in the Buddy feature in game. The most typical advantage is obtaining candies use to evolve the pokemon. However, there is also an additional bonus when a player walks in a specific distance along with their buddy pokemon.

Meanwhile, reports from GamePress showed a chart of the total distance players of "Pokemon Go" has to accomplish and hours required to obtain a bonus price. Examples displayed in the chart consist of distance traveled and number of hours needed to trek to obtain a certain pokemon.

The Buddy feature will have the same speed limit of 3 m/s as egg hatching and players of "Pokemon Go" gets a candy per distance traveled when assigning pokemons in the Buddy feature. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Pokemon Go" news and update!
