Robert Downey Jr. just can't seem to catch a break. After reports suggests that he will pass his baton to a 15-year-old girl, Riri Williams, in "Iron Man 4," another report revealed that he will be replaced by a previous co-star.
Master Herald now reports that Ty Simpkins will be replacing Robert Downey Jr. for the lead role in the next installment, "Iron Man 4." The site also noted that "Iron Man 4" may be released on 2019 but as expected, neither Marvel nor Disney commented on this matter.
The name Ty Keegan Simpkins may not ring a bell to most people, but this 15-year-old actor already had a lot of experiences under his belt, including films like "Insidious," "Insidious: Chapter 2," "Jurassic World," and "Iron Man 3." Ty Simpkins was that kid that Tony Stark be-friended in "Iron Man 3."
If this new rumor will in fact be true, Ty Simpkins will be much older than he is now when "Iron Man 4" goes into production. So what will be the storyline for this new angle?
The most popular "Iron Man 4" plot was for Robert Downey Jr. to be replaced by a 15-year-old girl. Marvel Studios is known for stirring things up to gain more publicity. So is this also the same case that they're doing with "Iron Man 4?" As it turns out, the report regarding Riri Williams was actually based on the Marvel Comics and not from the Marvel Studios "Iron Man 4" script.
