'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Cast News & Updates: Jon Favreau Joins Cast As Tony Stark's Driver Happy Hogan

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is currently in development. Recent news surfaced that Jon Favreau has been cast to reprise the role of Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's bodyguard and driver.

Jon Favreau served as director of the first two "Iron Man" movies and also had cameo roles as Happy Hogan. He is set to appear again as the trusty bodyguard and driver in "Iron Man 3" by Shane Black. Robert Downey Jr. is also set to appear as Iron Man in "Spider-Man: Homecoming." HeyUGuys stated that not a lot of details about "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has been revealed at the moment. However, fans can begin to speculate which actors would suit certain roles the best.

The current cast members of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" include Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Logan Marshall-Green and Kenneth Choi. It also includes Donald Glover, Hannibal Buress, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Mando, Angourie Rice, Abraham Attah, Michael Barbieri, Jona Xiao, Martin Starr, Zendaya and Tony Revolori.

Holland will star in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" as Peter Parker. Jon Watts is serving as director, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are the scriptwriters, while Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige are serving as producers. Holland will reportedly feature the most technologically advanced suit in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" as well as a wide array of superhero tricks.

Cinema Blend revealed that "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is set after the web-slinging character was introduced in "Captain America: Civil War." Peter Parker is a high schooler and Tony Stark will recruit him and help in designing his Spider-Man suit. Stark will most likely serve as Peter's mentor. There are talks that "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be a film dedicated to the character, instead of a Marvel crossover event.

Aside from directing the first two Iron Man films, Favreau previously headed the live-action Disney movie, "The Jungle Book." The movie was a huge success, raking in over $900 million at the worldwide box office. There are plans to make a sequel. Before, "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Favreau will appear next in "Term Life" together with Vince Vaughn. The director/actor is represented by CAA.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is set to release on July 7, 2017. More updates and details are expected soon.
