Last chapter ended with a major cliffhanger, hinting of a serious possibility that allies would probably kill each other against their will.
"Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 spoilers suggest the one Fairy Tail guild member has to die in order to save the other. The spoilers are of course referring to both Gray And Juvia who were under Invel's Ice Lock.
It was seen in the last chapter just how powerful Invel is. He was able to shatter Gray's Ice Molding magic attack. Doing so was just child's play to him because he revealed that he is the purest of ice mages and therefore the strongest, being able to control the essence of ice itself and freeze everything he wants. For this reason, Invel will most likely defeat Gray in "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 unless Gray does something drastic to tip the odds in his favor.
Realizing the difference in their ice magic powers, Gray then revealed his trump card - his Devil Slayer Magic in the hopes getting the upper-hand in their battle. While this obviously surprised Invel, it triggered the Winter General to formulated another plan, the full awakening of Gray's darkness in "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499.
To achieve this, Invel used his Ice Lock on both Juvia and Gray. The previous chapter ended with the two slowly losing control of their bodies' actions as they are slowly compelled by Invel's Ice Lock to kill each other. Will one of them really die when "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 airs?
Invel calculated that Gray would most likely win in the fight. However, some "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 spoilers predict that Juvia will not die by the hands of Gray at all.
A Yonkou Productions blog released some "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 spoilers and predictions stating that Juvia will end up killing herself while she still has some control of her body. It is the only action she can think of to break Invel's Ice Lock spell without hurting Gray at the same time.
However, the same "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 spoilers also predict that it will not be just Juvia who will take this route. In fact, the same method will be employed by Gray as well. Rather than hurt his comrade Juvia, Gray will impale himself with an ice sword.
A shocked Invel will have a hard time believing what he just saw, saying that it was beyond his calculations. However, their sacrifices will not be in vain according to "Fairy Tail" Chapter 499 spoilers. Aside from breaking Invel's Ice Lock, Juvia will perform a blood transfusion magic on Gray, ensuring that he survives to continue his fight against Invel.
