"Five Nights at Freddy's Sister Location" is not cancelled, contrary to popular rumors that have circulated and solicited twister reactions from fans. The website might display the word "CANCELLED due to leaks" in big, red and bold letters, but fans of the series know much better. Creator Scott Cawthon is just messing around with the large fanbase of the game, who refuse to be tricked by the game's antics.
Just like any other popular and anticipated installment to a franchise, a few unintended leaks of information are to be expected. While that may be true, it does not appear that such would be logical to justify what could be one of the biggest hits in the history of the franchise.
As confirmed in a report by Game Skinny, what appears on the website is just meant to mislead fans of the game. If the image is copy and pasted onto an image editor and has the brightness adjusted, a long hidden message appears in the background.
Even when the controversial image is brightened through a photo editor, the text still appears very cryptic and quite hard to read. But from what has been seen, it can already be said with absolute certainty that Scott Cawthon has just managed to panic and excite fans of his horror series.
Latin Times reports that this new game would include a new setting which would feature a different restaurant that is still affiliated with the previous one. That could be why this installment is titled "Sister Location" since players will be in a different but closely related setting.
While players took on the role of a security guard during the past installments, they will be playing the role of a technician working late at night in this game. They will be in charge of checking on Circus Baby's condition and his legion of equally creepy animatronic minions.
The game will be available on PC and is set to be released by Steam on October 28,2016; just in time so that players can enjoy it during Halloween. Although a release date had been confirmed, it is to be noted that Cawthon has a history of not sticking to the release dates.
