'Pokemon Sun and Moon' Latest News, Release Date & Update: Crabrawler, Sandygast, Palossand, Stufful In Focus! More Game Details Revealed

The Pokemon Company introduced four new "Pokemon Sun and Moon" creatures at the 2016 Pokemon World Championships on Friday. This has taken the total count of new Pokemon and Alola forms to 55. The figure includes the ones revealed in the championships as well as the ones revealed at Gamescom 2016.

Of the ones released, a special mention must be made of the Crabrawler that Game Freak's Junichi Masuda simply adores. Needless to say, the Crabrawler is quite a powerful one with strong pincers and capable of throwing some very hard punches. This Boxing-type creature of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games can be found around trees looking for Berries, its favorite food.

Two other Pokemon introduced at the 2016 Pokemon World Championships are made of sand. Palossand and Sandygast, the ground/ghost types, are pretty awesome, reports Tech Crunch. Categorized as Sand Heap Pokemon and Sand Castle Pokemon, Sandygast and Palossand have Water Compaction ability. The are also expected to be featured in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games.

The problem with Sandygast is that if it loses sand, it loses it for good. But it increases in size when sand is added to it. Pallosand, on the other hand, can easily restore itself if it loses some of its sand. Both "Pokemon Sun and Moon" characters have shovels of their own that perform different actions. Pallosand's shovel acts as radar that can help in locating prey whereas Sandygast uses its shovel to manipulate anyone who touches it, writes International Business Times.

The delightful red panda-type Stufful is yet another addition in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" installments and it nearly makes up for the sand things. It is a Flailing Pokemon with abilities of Klutz and Fluffy. Its small frame should not be misjudged as weakness. Its voluminous strength can stun even the most well-trained of Pokemon.

There is also a host of other creatures unique to the Alola region, setting for the all new "Pokemon Sun and Moon" installments. They will be hitting 3DS systems on Nov. 18.

New GX series cards will also be added to the Pokemon trading card game. The special attacks in the game can be used once per game. These GX Pokemon cards will be introduced alongside the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" series. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Pokemon Sun and Moon" news and updates!
