Bethesda Tweeted Nov. 7 saying that the company is "close" to rolling out new content for PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows.
"To update: we're also close on new Skyrim content for PS3 and PC," said the Tweet from Bethesda Game Studios.
Bethesda has been struggling to fix its PlayStation 3 downloadable content (DLC) issues, citing technical difficulties for the same. IGN says that the game's PlayStation 3 problems are "notorious." Though it has not affected everyone who has played Skyrim on Sony's console, it has led to Bethesda's delay in launching the DLC to PlayStation 3.
Back in August, Bethesda had announced "this is not a problem we're positive we can solve", sharing bleak prospects on the possibility of a DLC for the PS3 version. Owners of Skyrim on PlayStation 3 have had to deal with frame rate issues and game-breaking bugs.
"Being a PS3 gamer I really feel dejected and frustrated by the way Bethesda handled this entire Skyrim PS3 DLC issue episode," Gamepur said.
Skyrim's 1.8 beta update via Steam Oct. 15 was the first step to plug issues on PS3.
Other platforms have two DLCs - Dawnguard and Hearthfire. PlayStation 3 is yet to get any of these. The third DLC, Dragonborn, was revealed last month.
Though the Tweet from Bethesda does not reveal much about the dates, all we can do is wait for further news from them.
Dragonborn, the upcoming DLC for Xbox 360, will release Dec. 4 for 1600 Microsoft Points.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was launched Nov. 11, 2011. It is an open world role-playing video game.
