There may have yet been no confirmations as to a third season for "Scream" yet, but that does not mean that viewers have seen the last that Lakewood has to offer. A two-hour "Scream" Halloween special will be out in October, which will answer all hanging issues given out by the last episode of the second season.
Aside from that, the official Twitter account by the crew tweeted a teaser video, which basically said little about what viewers should expect. No further details about the upcoming Halloween special have been given out.
A by TV Line reveals an interview by showrunners Michael Gans and Richard Register for a more detailed explanation of that twisted season ender, as well as a sample of what a potential third season may bring for its viewers. When asked if Kleran had always been Piper's accomplice even from Season 1, Gans replied that "It was exactly who we thought it was, and why exactly why we thought it was from the very beginning."
He also added that there was one other person who they thought of before they met anybody, but did not reveal who that was. Register said that it could have been Emma and that she had completely lost her mind.
When asked about how much Kleran will be seen if ever the show gets a third season, Gans replied that it is hard to talk about it since "there's so much we can't say about the future" -- one of those being is how Kieran will continue. He adds that basically, it is usually the killer who gets killed. Since Kieran is alive, anything can happen.
When asked if Brooke was already living with Stavo and the sheriff, Register replied that they were just having dinner with each other, but that was already a hint as to where their relationship was headed to. As to Brandon James' fate in connection with the note in the tree, Register confirms that the question of his fate is exactly what they want to plant. Just like any other cliffhanger, they refused to confirm whether or not such is really happening.
