'Pokemon Go' Tips & Tricks: Eevee Evolution Secrets; How To Achieve Specific Eeveelutions

Eevee is one of the more unique types of creatures in "Pokemon Go," particularly because it can evolve into different kinds. Generally, creatures in "Pokemon Go" go through a single line of evolution, turning into a second or third-stage form. However, players have more options when it comes to Eevee.

Eevee is actually quite easy to catch in the wild in "Pokemon Go." The creature can currently evolve three ways, namely into the water-type Vaporeon, the fire-type Flareon and the electric-type Jolteon. Flareon is known as the most dominant among the three evolutions. Reportedly, "Pokemon Go" trainers can actually evolve their Eevee into the type that they want, instead of randomly.

The Bitbag reported that allowing Eevee to transform into a specific evolution in "Pokemon Go" can be done by simply renaming the creature. To have Eevee transform into Vaporeon, "Pokemon Go" players only need to rename Eevee into Rainer. To have it transform into Jolteon, they have to rename Eevee to "Sparky." Finally, to have it transform into a fire-type, they simply have to rename it to Pyro.

"Pokemon Go" trainers can type in the name and then save the changes. Restart "Pokemon Go" and notice how Eevee has evolved based on its given name. According to sources, the anime series where the three Eevee Brothers allegedly originated were named Rainer, Pyro and Sparky, and owned a Vaporean, Flareon and Sparky, respectively.

Eevee has a special genetic composition, allowing it to evolve depending on its location. It mutates due to radiation from various rocks. The Pokemon measures 1 foot and 11 inches tall and has a weight of 14.3 pounds. Furthermore, Eevee can also evolve into the dark-type Umbreon, grass-type Leafeon, fairy-type Sylveon, psychic-type Espeon and ice-type Glaceon. There are rumors that future updates in "Pokemon Go" will introduce Espeon and Umbreon.

AttackoftheFanboy stated that several "Pokemon Go" players confirmed that the rename approach in Eevee's evolution works. The change is actually permanent so trainers should decide carefully which evolution they wish to have before renaming the creature. It is also possible that there may be more options in evolving Eevee when more versions are added to "Pokemon Go" later.
