Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 3 has sold 3.5 million copies in its first week, Nov. 6.
Ubisoft's earning results for the first half of its fiscal year have been released. Assassin's Creed 3 took the limelight, with 3.5 million units sold. It is a 100 percent rise when compared to last year's Assassin's Creed Revelations, IGN reported.
The net sales of Ubisoft for the first half of the fiscal year romped up $359.2 million. Last year, it was $319.7 million. The company announced its sales and earnings for the six months that ended Sept. 30, 2012.
Yves Guillemot, CEO Ubisoft, said that Just Dance 4 "is performing in line with our expectations." He is expecting strong sales from the Wii U launch, "with flagship titles such as ZombiU and Rayman Legends, Ubisoft is also well positioned to reap the benefits of what is expected to be a very strong launch for Wii U."
Guillemot is expecting a paradigm shift in the gaming industry with next-generation consoles and games going digital. He noted, "From a longer-term perspective, Wii U's progression and the arrival of the next generation of consoles, combined with the strong momentum in the Free-to-Play model for PC, mobile and tablet games, will enable us to capitalize on the investments we have made in recent years."
About the company's upcoming game Far Cry 3, he said, it "has achieved among the best playtest scores in Ubisoft's history."
"Following on from the steady advances we have made over the last 24 months, the Company expects to achieve a record second-half performance," he added.
