‘Pokemon GO’ Latest News & Updates: Did Niantic Just Changed Nest, Spawn Mechanics Unannounced?

Did Niantic just changed the "Pokemon GO" nest and spawn mechanics? While no official word has been released from developer Niantic Labs, a lot of players have indeed noticed some changes on the game's spawning and nesting mechanics recently.

In particular, players noticed that there seem to be some changes made to the "Pokemon GO" nest in their respective areas. On top of that, some players who have been painstakingly recording "Pokemon GO" spawn data swore something changed a couple of days ago.

'Pokemon GO' Spawn Mechanics Changes

A lot of players have noticed recent changes in the "Pokemon GO" spawn mechanics. In fact, a Reddit user named LaMoula gave a very detailed account on The Sylph Road community about these observed changes.

For instance, LaMoula noticed that the "Pokemon GO" spawn frequency has changed in some of the spawning areas. LaMoula's area had 22 spawning points which previously kept a constant 1 spawn per hour at exactly the same minute each hour.

Recently, LoMoula noticed that 1 spawn point now gave out Pokemon every 30 minutes. The other 11 spawning points remained true to their original 1 per hour "Pokemon GO" spawn rate while the rest can only be described as converted into a random spawning rate. LoMoula is open to the possibility that it may not be random at all and that probably a pattern might reveal itself with more data.

'Pokemon GO' Nest Changes

But it now appears that it is just not the "Pokemon GO" Spawn mechanics that was recently altered. Some gamers have likewise detected a changed in the types of monsters being spawned at a "Pokemon GO" nest, reports Forbes.

Previously, "Pokemon GO" nests spawn a predictable type of Pokemon. For instance, a Slowpoke nest would predictably spawn Slowpokes every hour or so. But now, players have noticed that some previously Slowpoke nesting sites are now consistently spawning Tentacools while former Dratini nests are now spawning Eevees.

It is still unclear if these changes are indeed recent tweaks introduced by the devs. Another possibility is that the type of "Pokemon GO" nest was pre-programmed to change in certain intervals back when the game was first introduced.

Unannounced 'Pokemon GO' Changes Welcomed By Players?

Okay, the last time Niantic Lab made announced changes to the game, it was a PR nightmare for the developer. The unannounced removal of the "Pokemon GO" nearby tracker feature united players all over the world against Niantic's seemingly rash decisions. Fortunately, Niantic had since redeemed itself by giving its explanation and offering an alternative, the "Pokemon GO" Sightings.

Regarding the changes in the "Pokemon GO" spawn and nest mechanics, players are more positive about this one. Many were previously complaining that it gets harder to collect new types of Pokemon with the old system unless one can travel to a different location where other types are spawned.

This recent tweak, if implemented correctly, would at least give players who don't travel very much the chance to curate a more varied Pokemon collection. Stay tune to Game & Guide for news on "Pokemon GO" nest and spawn updates.
