A new "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" video was presented by Nintendo, which featured the famous Temple of Time. The current state of the structure provided some hints about the upcoming plot of the new game.
The Temple of Time is a well-known landmark in the "Legend of Zelda" franchise. Based on the recent clip, it will still be part of the story in "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." The temple was shown in damaged condition, although it used to be the home of Master sword. The temple was also featured in "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," where it was an important medium that triggered the main protagonist, Link's, ability to travel through time.
In the "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" video, the Temple of Time still had the same familiar design as shown in previous titles, although it has fallen into ruin. There was debris surrounding the landmark, indicating that it may have been the subject to the elements through many years or served as a setting in times of war. There were vines on the walls and majority of the roof has been severely destroyed. Some "Legend of Zelda" fans may notice that the temple is no longer located close to Hyrule Castle and the nearby town.
Forbes stated that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" may include a post-apocalyptic setting of Hyrule as previously alleged. The Temple of Time will most likely have a central role again in Link's new adventure. The "Legend of Zelda" series has a branching timeline that divides after the circumstances in "Ocarina of Time." The "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" story will most like belong to the "Fallen Hero" timeline. The timeline returns to the very beginning of the "Legend of Zelda" series.
Hidemaro Fujibayashi is the director of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." He will most likely bookend the timeline using his own games, with "Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" serving as the starting timeline, and "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" serving as the end. "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is set to launch in 2017 on Wii U and NX.
