Fans are already excited about the upcoming PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio. Sony was the first to announce that it was developing the PS4 Neo just before E3 2016. Microsoft followed by revealing its future console, Project Scorpio. Here are some things to expect between the two new gaming consoles.
The Week stated that the PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio will feature 4K High Dynamic Range gaming and top quality virtual reality gaming experiences. Gamers will have the ultimate experience if they have a 4K TV and VR headset. The PS4 Neo will most likely be compatible with the PlayStation VR headset. On the other hand, the Xbox One Scorpio has yet to announce a Microsoft headset or partner.
The PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio will be more powerful than current-generation gaming consoles. The PS4 Neo may have 4.14 teraflops of GPU power, while the Xbox One will have a more powerful six teraflops of GPU power. However, higher teraflops do not immediately equate to better graphics, although the Scorpio may further be exploited after launch. Both the PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio will probably include 8GB of RAM with processors having clock speeds of over 2.1GHz.
The PS4 Neo is rumored to feature an eight-core 64-bit AMD processor with improved clock speed. Aside from 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, the console should have 512MB of DDR3 memory and higher bandwidth. The Xbox One Scorpio may include 12GB of DDR5 memory, which is bigger than its competitor. There are rumors that the PS4 Neo may not be capable of native 4K gaming, but may improve its framerates instead.
The Bitbag stated that the upcoming PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio promise that current games on the standard versions will still be compatible with the aid of patches. There will reportedly be two modes available, allowing players to choose the resolution accordingly. The PS4 Neo may launch within 2016. An announcement by Sony is expected before the PlayStation VR launches in October. The Xbox One Scorpio may not release until Christmas 2017. The prices of the two gaming consoles have yet to be revealed.
