Apple Watch 2 is one the most talked about smart wearable devices at present time. It has been over a year since Apple launched the Apple Watches and the next wearable device is likely to be launched this coming September or October as previously reported.
According to Mac Rumors, Ming-Chi Kuo, who is a KGI analyst, has issued a research note to the investors in which he predicts that the Apple Watch 2 will be launched in the second half of 2016. Also, the Apple Watch 2 will be faster and will have GPS, TSMC built processor, superior water proofing, higher capacity battery and a barometer.
The said analyst is very well connected to the supply chain and he believes that the Apple Watch 2 will have the same screen sizes and thickness as the existing models. The Apple Watch 2 is also rumoured to have cellular connectivity, but Kuo does not expect LTE connectivity until 2017.
According to The Next Web, the Apple Watch 2 will have a GPS radio and a barometer for better geolocation capabilities. It will surely have a larger battery to support the new upgrades. But, the new features will prevent Apple from making the Apple Watch 2 thinner.
On other news, according to CNet, Apple Watch is still leading the smartwatch pack. Over 1.6 million of devices are going to be shipped on the second quarter of this year. A very sizable decrease of 3.6 million shipped in the same quarter last year.
The Apple Watch 2 isn't only Kuo's prediction for Apple devices this year. The analyst also said that Apple would be releasing a heavily revamped MacBook Pro in late 2016 that will include OLED touchscreen, Touch ID and a USB-C support.
Apple Watch 2 is expected to be released in September 2016 alongside iPhone 7 and iPad Air 3. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more Apple Watch 2 release date, news and update!
