'Rise of the Tomb Raider' Release Date, News, Gameplay & Update: PS4 Preorder Comes with Freebies, New Features

Great news for fans of "Rise of the Tomb Raider," as the Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix game that was previously released only for Xbox One and Windows PC is going to be released for PlayStation 4 this October, together with some amazing freebies and new features. The upcoming release, which is being tagged as the "20th Anniversary Celebration" of the game, will come with a single player mode that lets gamers dive head first into the narrative instead of the technicalities of combat.

According to Gamerant, the upcoming "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will feature a new single player mode titled "Blood Ties," and a new gameplay featuring an attack by zombies, called "Lara's Nightmare." Another great feature is a co-op mode called "Endurance." What's even more exciting is that the 20th anniversary edition of the game will also include all DLC that have been released previously, along with new costumes and skins, and PlayStation VR support for the "Blood Ties" mode, making the gameplay something really cool to look forward to.

Gamers who play "Rise of the Tomb Raider" on Windows PC and Xbox One need not worry about the new modes, though, as they will be free for those who have a season pass, Gamespot reports. Meanwhile, those who preorder the game for PlayStation will also get their hands on the critically acclaimed "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition" absolutely free. All players have to do is preorder the game via the PlayStation store.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" was released in November last year as an Xbox timed exclusive, and was made available for Windows PC in January. It will arrive on PlayStation this October 11.Meanwhile, fans are encouraged to preorder it via the PlayStation Store to take part in the giveaways as well.
