Millions of fans went berserk when Niantic finally released the much-awaited "Pokemon GO" game. However, new reports are claiming that the popular mobile game is set to be suspended due to large data consumption.
U.S. House of Representatives plans to suspend 'Pokemon GO' soon?
9to5Mac has reported that the U.S. House of Representatives has sent Niantic a letter about the popular "Pokemon GO" game. According to the report, the said letter was addressed to Niantic CEO John Hanke.
Countless "Pokemon GO" players have reported to the U.S. House of Representatives the very distressing data consumption while playing the game. Signed by Jan Schakowsky (Illinois), Frank Pallone (New Jersey) and Diana DeGette (Colorado), the letter included four questions that John Hanke has to answer.
The three representatives asked Niantic CEO John Hanke whether or not there are other means to minimize the data consumption "Pokemon GO" players use when playing. Also, the politicians also asked about the instruments that were used by the game company in warning the players that the "Pokemon GO" app could result in sudden charges.
Moreover, Jan Schakowsky, Frank Pallone and Diana DeGette have also asked the "Pokemon GO" developers if they have made sure players were warned before the download and star using the game app. It was also enquired if Niantic has asked help from wireless carriers in guaranteeing that "Pokemon GO" gamers will not be billed with large charges.
Up until now, Niantic CEO John Hanke is yet to comment on these inquiries. Hence, fans should take the reports claiming "Pokemon GO" will be suspended in U.S. with a grain of salt until proven true.
U.S. Wireless providers to offer unlimited 'Pokemon GO' data usage?
Meanwhile, other "Pokemon GO" fans have speculated that all U.S. Wireless providers could be forced to give unlimited data usage exclusively for the game after the congressmen investigated the game. As a matter of fact, T-Mobile has already given their subscribers free unlimited "Pokemon GO" data usage for a year.
Up to this writing, it remains to be seen if other wireless providers will also be offering the same promos to other "Pokemon GO" players. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Pokemon GO" news and updates!
