It is now confirmed that Lotte Verbeek will join "The Blacklist" Season 4 cast, report Entertainment Weekly. Verbeek will be reprising her role as Katarina Rostova, Liz Keen's (Megan Boone) mother.
Long time fans of "The Blacklist" will probably recall that Katarina first appeared to Red back in the series' third season. However, Katarina at that time only appeared in some sort of vision to Red when he thought that Liz actually died.
But there were a number of occasions where Liz's mother was shown indirectly. "In the first two seasons, we used pictures and a few fragments of memory," explains executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, "but Lotte brought Katarina to life in 'Cape May.'
Apparently the showrunners were pleasantly surprised at the buzz Katarena's prior appearance generated. According to Bokenkamp, "The fan response to that character has been great. The episode itself was a departure, but we've found some really interesting story opportunities as a result."

When Katarina was introduced to the series, it was either through an apparition or just in photographs. According to latest "The Blacklist" Season 4 spoilers, it is possible that Katarina would still be likewise featured in visions or apparitions.
