Fans can't still believe the ending of "The Good Wife" Season 7, but CBS confirmed that the favorite American drama series will continue with a spin-off.
The Planned Spin-Off
"The Good Wife" showrunners, Michelle and Robert King, recently revealed that they are willing to do a spin-off if any network will pick them up to save from cancellation.
"We love these characters, and if anyone made a deal with us today, we would be bringing every single one back," "The Good Wife" creators told Deadline.
From then, CBS decided to continue "The Good Wife" tale with a spin-off, which will be seen on its V.O.D. program, CBS All Access.
The Continuation Of 'The Good Wife'
"The Good Wife" spin-off will focus on the tale of Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo).
Lucca Quinn recently joined "The Good Wife" Season 7 and ended up working at the same company where Diane Lockhart was working.
Vanity Fair reported that a press release from CBS noted that Michelle and Robert King will stay as "The Good Wife" spin-off's co-creators and executive producers together with Phil Alden Robinson, Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer, and Brooke Kennedy.
'The Good Wife' Season 7 Finale
Meanwhile, "The Good Wife" Season 7 finale wrapped up with a slap. Literally, the show ended when Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) was hit by her mentor Diane Lockhart.
In fact, "The Good Wife" Season 7's ending was a real shocker as no one predicted that it was going to happen, as per Movie News Guide.
The fans of "The Good Wife," too, didn't like the ending of Season 7 as they strongly believed that Alicia Florrick deserved a happy ending and not a slap.
"To talk about the end of the series is probably to talk about the beginning of the series because we started with this feeling that it should begin with a slap and end with a slap," Robert King explained. So, it seems Julianna Margulies will not be seen in "The Good Wife" spin-off.
"The Good Wife" spin-off is set to be released in 2017.
