There is no doubt that "Pokemon GO" is now considered as one of the most successful games ever released even with the fact that it is not yet being rolled out worldwide. However, despite its undisputable victory, the Niantic game has also received its fair share of criticisms and that is why the U.S. House of Representatives comes along with a letter sent to Niantic a day ago.
House of Representatives released letter about 'Pokemon GO'
9to5Mac has reported that on July 19, John Hanke, the CEO of Niantic, received a letter from the U.S. House of Representatives on Energy and Commerce. According to reports, the government department had asked whether or not the game company has considered that "Pokemon GO" could be a mobile data leech app.
"Pokemon GO" players know that the game drains a lot of battery life. However, there has been some evidence that "Pokemon GO" can also consume the mobile data allowances of "Pokemon GO" gamers.
Reports have claimed that the letter Niantic received was signed by three House committees, namely: Frank Pallone, Diana DeGette, and Jan Schakowsky. The politicians asked a barrage of questions for the CEO of Niantic and how the company is holding up to their success.
Inside the infamous 'Pokemon GO' letter released this week
Sources have claimed that the letter consists concerns from the House of Representatives on Energy and Commerce on how "Pokemon GO" uses too much mobile data from the players. A part of the letter stated that "users have reported maxing out their monthly data usage plans within a week of playing."
Aside from that too much data being used, "Pokemon GO" players have also complained about how the Niantic game could consume their phones' battery life in a short period of time.
Fans claimed it is quiet odd that the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to Niantic concerning the mobile usage of "Pokemon GO" while there are other popular apps that uses a huge amount of data like Netflix, Facebook, Youtube, Snapchat and Twitter.
However, the House of Representatives committee seems curious about Niantic and how the company manages to control the large amount of mobile data "Pokemon GO" uses in every played game. For more news on "Pokemon GO," stay tuned to GamenGuide!
