The highly anticipated "Gears of War 4" will launch a new trilogy amidst a new extended universe from the original game. According to Gamerant, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson shared that they decided to set the story on planet Sera, 25 years following the events of "Gears of War 3."
In addition, the game will find Marcus Fenix's son JD, Del Walker after they leave the COG militia, which imposed an authoritarian rule on Sera after the events of "Gears of War 3." Players who have finished the third installment of the game can remember how the Imulsion weapon almost wiped out the population, forcing the planet to start over after the devastating event, causing the COG militia to build huge walls to protect the remaining humans of Sera.
It seems, however, that JD and Del have found anomalies in the COG militia's rule, which is why they decided to part ways with them. They later on meet Kait Diaz of the Outsiders faction, a group that is also adamant about living independently from the COG militia.
"Gears of War 4" features the voices of "Spartacus: Vengeance" and "Spartacus: War of the Damned" actor Liam McIntyre as JD, "Confess" star Eugene Byrd as Del, and Laura Bailey as Kait. For more information on the limited edition Xbox One "Gears of War 4"-themed Elite controller, visit Gamestop.com.
