‘Pokemon Go’Latest News, Release Date & Update: Game Launch in Japan May Possibly Happen In Mid-September? Niantic Labs Target End Of July?

The “Pokemon Go” craze continues and it that covers only a select number of regions as of to date. Niantic Labs was able to launch the game in Australia, New Zealand and the United States before eventually expanding to Italy, Spain, Portugal and Canada.

'Pokemon Go' sets ambitious call in Japan

Japan should have experienced the “Pokemon Go” phenomenon by now but country servers are being singled out as the reason behind the delay.

Speaking to Forbes, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke bares that the country’s servers are to blame, claiming that they are not powerful enough. He however says that Niantic is busy working with their Japanese partners to work on the issue.

Since its release, “Pokemon Go” has encountered server hiccups. Such was the case when the game was released in Canada though the problem was immediately resolved by Niantic.

Could 'Pokemon Go' Hackers be at work?

With “Pokemon Go” a craze, server downtime is only to be expected. While that is understandable, would hackers have any hand on it?

According to Tech Crunch, a hacker group named “OurMine” has been contributing to the problem by hitting “Pokemon Go” login servers. They are doing such through distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, resulting in frustrated players unable to log in.

So aside from server capacity issues, hackers may be contributing to the woes of “Pokemon Go”.

'Pokemon Go' Mid-September release more likely

Heading back to the Japanese debut of “Pokemon Go”, the planned end of the month release of the game is met with a bit of scepticism. In the same report by Forbes, points out that Japan’s network complexities are more serious than though, making a mid-September more believable.

Seeing the issues plaguing Japan, it will be interesting how Niantic will fare with nearby regions Korea and China. Like Japan, the server infrastructure stand to become an issue for the popularly rising augmented reality game, IGN reported.
