'Prison Break' Season 5 Release Date, News & Update: Lincoln Will Help Michael To Flee; Show's Creator Reveals Revival Drama Inspired By 'The Odyssey'

The return of "Prison Break" Season 5 makes fans excited to see Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) alive again on a nine-episode revival. However, things will be more complicated for the protagonist as this time; he will be the one behind bars.

Lincoln To Help Michael Flee

As Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) thought that Michael is already dead, she tried to move on with her life and found a new father for their son, Mike (Christian Michael Cooper) on "Prison Break" 5.

Sara's new husband was first named as Scott Ness (Mark Feuerstein), but he would be now called Jacob. Will Jacob be a friend or a foe?

"Prison Break" Season 5 will still be about Michael's life and his escape from the Yemeni prison, according to iDigital Times.

This time, his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) will try his very best to flee Michael from "Prison Break" Season 5's jail.

Lincoln's plan will be helped by other "Prison Break" Season 5 stars, T-Bag (Robert Knepper), C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar), Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) and, of course, Michael's wife, Sara.

Paul Scheuring Reveals 'Prison Break' Season 5 Is Inspired By 'The Odyssey'

Meanwhile, some are still puzzled how Michael managed to be alive on "Prison Break" Season 5 after he sacrificed his life at the end of Season 4.

The idea of bringing Michael back to life on "Prison Break" Season 5 started when Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell meet again on the set of "The Flash."

"Wentworth and I have a deep friendship, but also a unique chemistry on screen, and it was just like we had never left 'Prison Break' when we reunited," Dominic Purcell told Entertainment Weekly.

Their next move is to propose their idea of doing "Prison Break" Season 5 to the show's creator Paul Scheuring and they saw his interest for a revival.

Paul Scheuring described the upcoming "Prison Break" Season 5 as a story of a major return of someone who's going back to life.

"The emotional heart of it is that he left behind a wife and a son he's never seen before. [I thought] 'Hey, wait, isn't that 'The Odyssey'? Then, "Prison Break" Season 5 is born as inspired by "The Odyssey."

"Prison Break" Season 5 will be aired again in Spring 2017.
