Fox and Marvel are two different companies though word of a possible cooperation has been in the air for some time. Both companies own rights to respective Marvel-inspired superheroes with an agreement seen to benefit everyone.
This was tackled before on Game and Guide, tackling a how a massive Marvel Cinematic Universe could happen. It will take a lot of talk for Fox and Marvel to make it happen. Until that time comes, there are Marvel heroes who will continue to sit out.
Making “Fantastic Four” 'fantastic' again
Of the heroes that have been portrayed on the big screen, “Fantastic Four” is considered the most disappointing of the lot. There have been two renditions of the superhero quartet and both bombed out with the fans as pointed out by Screen Rant.
Should Marvel and Fox come to an agreement, seeing another reboot could be risky. An exception of course is “Spider-Man” which will get yet another reboot on July 17, 2017. Tom Holland will try to make that work but seeing his performance on “Captain America: Civil War”, it may just work.
But can the same formula work on the “Fantastic Four”? Looking at the Marvel movie lineup, it seems hard to foresee. The best way at this point is to silently insert “Fantastic Four” into the upcoming big films like “Avengers: Infinity War” and see the impact it will have on the fans.
“Spider-Man” was able to do it so why can’t “Fantastic Four”?
To date, the only franchise that has made progress is “X-Men”. As mentioned in that previous post, one can imagine the outcome if the “X-Men” and the “Avengers” join forces against the big evil “Thanos”. Seeing how massive the chaos will be, such could be the cue for the “Fantastic Four” to come in.
Right now anything is possible for a Fox-Marvel partnership. Not only will it benefit the fans, it stands to rebuild faltering franchises as the fabled “Fantastic Four”.
